yea go to sears hardware and get a set of rachet wrenches. also try to keep your post contained to one post so your not posting over and over ( double posting) which is against the rules. either edit your post or wait for someone else to respond first.

Here's a pic of the sensor's location. It's taken from underneath the truck reaching up past the exhaust on the passenger side. You can see the two bolts there just behind the transmission oil dipstick tube. The wiring harness unclips up by the distributor cap. Also there's a downloadable service manual up in the "2nd gen ram info" thread at the top of the forum if you haven't found it yet.

Managed to get the old crankshaft position sensor removed....It looked fine. I compared the resitance of the old and new. They were the same. I installed a new one.
As I said ealier new OEM coil.
Mew rotor and button and wires were new 3 months back.

I still have no fire, she will not crank.
Just turns over normally...I am charging the battery at night.
I do not get the 5 vdc-o when rotating the motor...nothing with either crank position sensor.
I suspect something further up stream, always did, but all the fuses check ok. All of them
THe ASD relay has 12v however I am wondering why I get a negative 12vdc from all the sockets; with power; to ground. Put my Fluke + lead on the battery negative and +12vdc. Seems wrong but I do not know much.
Bought a ob-2 code reader and there is no codes....I killed the battery positive for a few hours.
My reader does show yellow problem...do not know what that really means either....can't read anything maybe?
Every other function on the truck works...that I can check..lights, bells, locks, windows etc. Fuel pump whirs.

I continue to be lost with a dead truck. My only transportation.
Please help. This week is going to be hard to make work.

By the way I have a little 1/4 and 3/8 Craftsman socket set in the truck for emegencies.
I have 1/4 through 3/4 socket sets in Proto I use for auto when my air tools will not work.
I bought a little Stanley 3/8" rotator ratchet. This was the ticket for removing those crakshaft sensor bolts. It works like a normal socket wrench then you can turn the handle to rotate the drive too.

Thanks
Dumb struck Michael

No I am not sure of anything.
I assume timing too, still my brain thinks the cpk should send the 5 vdc either way...unless the ASD is killing it
All I know is it does it guage check, relays click and the fuel pump whirs and it turns over and over and over but will not start.
I can't sleep for worrying about this.
Its Christmas, I have kids, I can't afford to just drop it off at Dodge..afraid to anyhow.

where do you live, maybe someone here is near you and can help you out (try their pcm in your truck or something)
also pull know good relays (horn, wipers, etc.) and put them in the sockets of the critical systems like fuel pump, pcm, etc) just in case you misdiagnosed a relay. double check all the fuses under hood and inside panel by drivers door. check for continuity on primary coil wire to dist cap (while wiggling wire). if your near me id be happy to scan the pcm for codes.

I would deffinetly pull the distributor cap. I had my rotor slip up into the cap a few months back at 4000rpms and thought I blew up my engine. I could see the rotor slipping up at idle just causing the truck to just die instead of making all the horrific noises mine made winding down from 4000rpms and the spark jumping everywhere.

yank your plugs and see if they are gas fouled. if they are, clean them up and install all but one. then yank the fuel pump relay and put the plug into the wire as normal and ground it. see if the plug is getting spark. if your getting spark, then either the timing of it all is off or the injector timing is off.

did you swap the coil?
did you swap the crank sensor?
was the wiring to the crank sensor ok? IIRC I thought you mentioned that it was burned or exposed 6" up the harness...???

why did you delete all of your posts? makes it hard to figure out what's been done...
