Guys please help...... Starting Issues
Hi guys I am new to this so please just bear with me!!!!!
I have a 98 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.2, 4 wheel drive, 172,000 miles on the clock.
I started the truck one morning and left it running on my driveway so I could let it warm up. Came back out about 5 minutes later and truck had stopped running. I cranked and cranked and no luck. Sprayed a little of starting fluid into the throttle body and it fired up but died instantly. So I figured I had a fuel problem. I honestly couldn't hear the fuel pump prime so I immediately thought it was the issue. Ordered a new pump, installed it and still no luck???? I am wondering if I could have a clogged up cat??? I took out the 02 sensor that goes on to the cat relieve some pressure but it really didn't make any difference. There was only one DTC(p0138) before all of this happened????????
Please any advice would really help............

I removed it last night to try to relieve some of that back pressure out if there is any??? I was thinking it might be the catalytic converter. It ran a little better but it is still the same issue. Cat was replaced about 2 years ago, one thing I forgot to mention is that when it does start up I try to raise the RPM's and truck starts bogging down.

Might be the issue?
Ok hey you. So I tried doing a voltage test for the tps wiring harness, set it to volts DC, connected the ground lead of the multimeter to the ground on the battery, turned the key to the on position and started testing each wire. I know the middle connection is the signal wire, which tested to 0 volts but the black wire on the left had a little less than 1 volt and other wire on the right isn't giving anywhere near to 5 volts, it is also shorting out somewhere, everytime I make contact it resets everything on the dashboard and relays under the hood click. Am I doing this right?
