Default 2001 dodge ram 2500 v10

Does anyone know why the parts stores aren't showing a oil pump at all ?

Because as far as I know it's not a pump on a v10 so to speak, like on a v8. The oil pump is built into the timing cover and you buy a kit to fix it. Maybe dealer only at this point.

Zman is right. The oil pump is a couple of rotors inside the timing chain cover that go around the end of the crank. They need to be removed and measured for clearance.

Better yet why do the parts stores not show a 2001 quad cab with the V10 motor?

Back on topic...... What Zman said sounds like the reason.

Grab the 2001 parts and service manuals from the FAQ thread. They'll show you exactly where it's located, how to remove and measure them, and what the part numbers are.

Here's a blowup from the manual. #6 are the oil pump rotors.

It's a little work, but pulling the timing chain cover and servicing the oil pump isn't all that hard. Are you sure it's the pump and not another issue?
