Unhappy 1999 dodge durango will turn over but wont start! please help

I just bought my first vehicle which is the 99 dodge durango about 6 months ago and it was used. it ran PERFECTLY fine up until a month ago, out of no where while i was driving the engine cut off and the odometer read "no bu5". i tried jump starting it (didnt work) i tried taking out the key and turing it over(WHICH IT STILL DOES TO THIS DAY) didnt work. i keep the battery charged so i have no problem trying to start it but what i dont get is that it will turn over evrytime i try but just wont start up. ive checked ALL the fuses that i know of which is under the hood and on the side of the dashboard and there ALL still good, none burnt out. im not that mechanically inclined so im looking for the all the help i can get.

The 'no bus' message probably means your PCM just crapped the bed. Time to replace.

The "PCM"? isnt that the Power Control Module? If so would that make the "Fuel Gauge" not say whats really in it. I had a FULL tank of gas in it and every time i turn the key to the on position it just stays on empty like its not working or something.

The PCM controls everything. It's located on the passenger side fender and has 3 connectors...black, white & grey. The part number is on the sticker on the front of the PCM.

Not sure if this will work on your 99. if you turn the key to the on position (do not attempt to start) 3 times it will give you a code down where the odometer is. it will flash then other codes will show up or it will read pdone.

ok i found it. I wiggled the wires to see if its the connectors and nothing seemed to happen. then i tried the 3 key sequence and it didnt show any code except the no bu5 after i stopped the sequence. i did notice that the "FUEL GAUGE" is not moving at all. would that cause the dash to say "no bu5"?>>>>>did the new pcm fix your problem{littlelady}?

The new PCM comes in tomorrow. "no bus" means a computer isn't talking to the rest of the car. My fuel gauge doesn't move either. This will be the second pcm in the least 8 months. I'll let you know tomorrow if it fixes mine and the next best guess. ;-)

if the PCM isnt communicating properly you get the no bus error in the odometer window, if the PCM is not communicating the keydance trick will not work because it is just pulling the codes from (surprise surprise) the PCM.

your issue is one of two things, a bad PCM or bad connection to the PCM

ok littlelady .....okk i get that it is a big possiblity that is is the pcm but i was thinking, if its the pcm, and the pcm is what controls everything than it shouldnt even show the "no bu5" code at all right. i mean if the pcm's bad then nothing should be working
