Default Head gasket replacement 4.7. What parts are needed?

I am going to be replacing the head gaskets on my 2002 Ram (4.7l). What parts will I be needing to do the job? I see the top end 'kit' does not come with timing gaskets, I am assuming that I will need those but Rock Auto lists design 1 and design 2 and I am not sure what they are referring to? If somebody who has done this job could send me a message wih a list it would be appreciated. Thanks!

Get the top end kit and the timing kit less the chains. The chains are expensive and the stockers are pretty damn stout. I've not seen a chain go with under 200k+ miles on it. BUT you should do the guides and tensioner since you'll have to go that far into doing the head gasket on this OHC engine. They are probably about shot and are cheap to replace. Were on my '02 4.7 in I rebuilt...

there are 200,000 on this engine. Is the 'kit' you are referring to the same thing as the 'timing set' they offer that includes the tensioners, guides, tensioner arms, ect...for $235+?
Appreciate the help

Yeah and you might want to call the following place. I got a quote of $1150 from Rock Auto and got the SAME parts from these people for $830 and amazingly the boxes all came drop shipped from Rock Auto. Keep in mind this was for a FULL engine rebuild kit - pistons, etc.

How these people can sell Rock Auto parts, have Rock Auto ship them for them and beat them by so much is beyond me. Ask for Tali.
