Just brought a 04 RAM 1500 Quad cab but its got a sort of rumbling noise on the passenger side wheel. When turning right say going round a RH bend the noise goes off. I was thinking maybe a wheel bearing gone bad?
When you say "just bought", how long ago was this? You have the right idea about the wheel bearing but the only way to know for sure is to jack it up and check it out
Got it Friday just gone. I knew it had a couple of problems and thought for the price i could get it fixed.
I drives fine other than this hummmmm noise from passenger side front wheeel on a left hand turn/bend goes off a little on the straight and nothing on a rh turn/bend
Ok jacked it up and got a little play about 1/4 inch or so diagonal across wheel nothing vertical or horizontal . Spun the wheel and I can hear a slight grinding noise.
Squeaks are easy most of the time. Just find the area where you think it is coming from and spray it with WD40 or something similar. Then you can start narrowing it down to a smaller area or item as the culprit
LOL....I wouldnt unless you cannot track the noise down or just feel the need to create one. Im not anyone to tell you NOT to create one. Obviously you would not want it tied to this thread and issue. A new problem get a new thread.
I'm gonna jump in on this squeak issue too. Gorhad does your truck squeak sound come from the wheel assemblies? I have an annoying squeak coming from the rear assemblies I believe. I only hear it when coasting through a parking lot. Once I touch the gas pedal, it goes away until I'm coasting again at parking lot speed. What can you not spray with wd40 or liquid wrench on an assembly?
I thought they made a spray specifically for brakes and was safe to squirt on the rotor or pads?
