Default Radio Problems!

Ok i bought my 99 neon expresso a year ago and only one speaker was working the other day that one finally quit too. I thought it might have been the amp in the deck so i replaced the factory unit with an aftermarket one. I still have no sound to the speakers but everything else works fine. I know the radio works fine tested it but still can't find any reason for the speakers to not be working. Any help you can give me i'd really appreciate!

Default Any help u can give?

Does anybody have the actual schematic for the stereo/speaker system? I have all the wiring colors and what they are and it is hooked up correctly. I really don't have the money to go and buy the schematic so if anybody could get it to me i would really appreciate it. Also does anybody know if there is another amp under the dash or something on this car and where it is? Figured that might be causing the problem but can't seem to see anything like that.

No amps came with Neons as far as I know and I've been all over multiple ones. Most likely could be your speakers are just fried. on my DD when the rear speakers got fried they just stopped working all together. No static or anything. Replaced them and they've been working fine. Also could be the wiring around the speaker which if you take the door panel off you can then take the speaker out and see if the wires were damaged or not.

I don't have a flow chart of how the wiring for the radio goes, least not on the computer and I don't have a scanner sorry.

Thanks, yeah you're right the speakers are all blown took one of my surround sound speakers from the house and plugged it in and worked just fine, found it kinda weird didn't have any cracks or anything showing it to be blown but i guess they can go out other ways. Thanks again now i just gotta go buy all new ones.

Just in case you don't know, the door speakers are 6.5" (or 6.75" can't remember off the top of my head) and the rear speakers are 6x9's.

Yeah i'm going to just do the 6x9's for now found some on amazon for $8 ea so after shipping i paid $30 for them and had good reviews. I measured the front ones and saw they were 6.5" was questioning if that's what a 6" speakers outside dimensions were or if it was indeed a 6.5" so thank you. And thanks again for your help.

The front speakers in the doors are 6.75" and hard to find and are twice as expensive as 6.5"'s when you do find them. Also, the big problem is depth. You MUST get shallow speakers as the window comes in behind them when down and misses by only a 1/4" at best.

6.75 to 6.5 converters are about 10 bucks total (for two) and easy to find.

Most 6.5" Speakers, least that I've seen, come with an adapter already for the 6.75".

Ok, cool thanks everybody, i'll probably just stick with the 6x9's in the back for now considering i only paid $700 for the car and it's just to get me to work and back i can probably get by with just the rear speakers. I appreciate all the info and help!
