must admit, im an idiot too. assumed it was something for the dealers since i could never get into it... just never tried it while sitting... nice that you can adjust that stuff and turn off horn beeps, etc.
but i was wondering what is the hill assist option??

When you are stopped on an incline, the brakes are applied for you allowing for an easier (in theory) take off on the hill without the truck rolling backwards. What I have found is that you just have to give it more throttle to get the brakes to release. Also it does not hold in all situations.
thats what i assumed it was, but mine is set to on, and i know i was on a steeper hill at a redlight and it was drifting back when i let off the brake.... guess i'll turn that off too
I think it only holds for a second or two to get your foot from the break to the gas, a couple seconds or so. I was on a boat ramp and took my foot off the break to show my buddy the assist, it held for a couple seconds and started to roll back after a couple seconds off the breaks.
