Default v10 mpg

I have a 2003 2500 v10 all stock and getting 10 mpg, does anyone have any suggestions to help increase mpg? I hear about alot of options but would like some input from someone that anything really worked or if just hype?
Thanks

there really isnt much to do to get better mpg's. things that do help, only help very minimally, and end up costing more than the better mileage will offset. things that come to mind though are e-fan, gears, and driving slower. i dont know what is available to you v10 guys in terms of tuners, but those will show a little improvement as well.

you have 8+ Liters of displacement based on old LA based technology. Its a miracle IMO that you see double digits.

Properly gaped new plugs. New oil and a clean air filter. Could try Seafoam if you have a lot of miles.

Yeah, I don't think there is a whole lot of room to see any substantial gains out of that torque beast, but you might try to post over in the 2nd Gen Ram section where a few guys have that engine, they might can give you a tip or two to eek out a little bit more mpg's...

+3!! what were you expecting when you bought it? you would have been much better off with a cummins if you were looking for torque and towing capability

Sadly, the V10 never really took off as far as getting aftermarket support, I always liked it, or at least the idea of it as a nice niche for those without the funds to purchase or wanting the upkeep costs of a diesel, but still needed a haulin', workin' beast...
