How so...is it a little high, a little low, all the way left, all the way right?

Does the heat still blow as hot as it normally does?
Is the upper radiator hose nice and hot?
Is your coolant level correct?

Replace the coolant temperature sensor for the gauge. There are two of them in the top of the intake manifold next to the t-stat housing. The 2-wire one is for the computer and has nothing to do with the gauge. You want to change the 1-wire sensor that is there.
