Default 4 wheel drive not engaging all the way??

1998 slt larime 4x4 5.9 automatic
i have replaced the little vacume lines on the transfer case and it still wont go into 4 hi. 4 low works. but no light comes on. i need some help maby some advice or some online links?? my chiltons manual is a ****ing joke. im sooo pissed im about 2 go out in the street and do roll backs until i really mess something up.

Default i found out why 4 wheel isnt working, i still need help

the wires that run from the idicator lamp switch are cut. they run from lamp switch on the axel along the frame to right under the radiator, i cant find the other end that they hook up 2 can anyone tell me were they go??? please its almost winter and i need 4 wheel drive thanks.. ps could these wires be the reAson my 4 wheel drive isnt working????

its a 1998 1500 4x4 ram larime slt 5.9

i need 2 know were the wires go from the cad indicator lamp switch

is it just a hot wire and a ground, if so could i just put in a switch from the battery???

no, it should be a loop between the two wires when in 4wd, and no that isnt the reason for the 4wd not working, probably a vacuum leak, or a bad cad actuator

so i could just splice the wires togher??
i put a vacume gadge on and its fine; i also pulled the vacume shift motor and tested it. so wht do i try next??

is your t-case engauging? splicing the wires will do nothing, unless it is the cluster side of the harness, then your 4wd light will be on all the time, the light and wires dont affect the engaugment of the 4wd

cad (central axle disconnect) vacuum actuator on the front axle

do this... in 2wd, engine off, you should be able to turn the front drive shaft by hand, then in 4wd, engine off, the shaft shouldnt turn, if it does the t-case isnt engauging, if the shaft doesnt turn, there is a problem with the cad, vacuum, or front diff
