Default '88 D100 Trans Problem

Recently picked up a D100 2WD 318 Automatic project truck, the transmittion is giving me problems. Occasionally there will be a delay before shifting gears, the motor will run up then after a couple seconds it'll shift hard into second. The rest of the gears seem fine.

Anyon else have this issue? If so how did you fix it?

Also

What transmition do I have incase I have to replace it?

the most common transmition is the 727 but they also came with other transmition. you would have to pull the numbers off the transmition. if the transmition shifts late and the shifts are harsh, suspect a faulty vacuum diaphagm. have you checked the fluid level?

I checked the level cold and it showed full, ran the truck for a few min and shifted through the gears and it showed very low.

Thanks crazzywolfie!
Looks like I'll be buying some fluids.

Default Not really a cheaper solution

I have a 76 D100 that I'm currently working on and the transmission was doing the same thing. On mine it was a 727 and I just had it rebuilt, $406.78 later its shifting like a champ. Although mine had a couple more issues than just shifting.
