Tranny & transfer-case fluid change
Hey guys, I've got an '05 1500 4x4 QC w/HEMI with 60k miles. I've been reading these forums for a while and want to be clear on couple of things. The first being a tranny fluid flush question. I've read a lot about the process and was wondering how to go about the flush from the TC and cooler. Should I drop the pan, replace filters, install pan, and then break the lines and flush for a few minutes? I'm planning on seeing how much drains out from the pan and replacing that amount, then break the lines, crank the truck and replace the remainder from the 15 or so qts it says in the manual. Like I said, I've read a lot of posts on here but haven't gotten a clear process of the order of operations. Just wondering cus I don't want to waste any of the liquid gold that I'm gonna buy this weekend.
The second is about the transfer case fluid. I was under the impression that the tranny fluid flows through the transfer case as well, since it's an auto. Is that true or is it in a separate resevoir?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the long-drawn out questions.

The t-case has its own reservoir. There is a drain and fill plug on the back side. It'll take 2-3 quarts of ATF +4 fluid.
For the trans fluid change, there is no real need to flush completely. With only 60k on the trans, you can do the pan drop, replace the filters and fill back up with fresh ATF +4 fluid. Do the next fluid/filter change at 90k and you'll be fine.
