Default Smoke test

Can you perform your own smoke test or is that just a shop machine that has to do it? do they sell anything if you wanted to do it yourself?? ( i have a evap leak, not the gas cap i 've tried 4 diff ones including mopar from dealership)just curious if they have anything out there that anyone has tried...thanks

Don't know of an easy diy smoke machine but other common problems for an evap leak is a cracked charcoal canister and a leaking purge solenoid. Also check all the hoses to the leak detection pump for proper tight connection.

I'll check all of the above mentioned, as far as burnouts, i dont wanna waste on my 33 inch muds and my luck if i tried my "delicate" tranny would get F'ed up in the process, but then againF it, "drive it like its stolen" right? i try to be easy on it when im not boonie bashing or stump jumpin it[sm=happy046.gif]

oh yeah i just filled up my truck, my gas light was on and i only got 20gal of gas in it, and that was topping it off as much as i could without it over flowing it, i thought i had a 25 gal tank???and before i topped off i only got 184 miles from the last full tank of gas, is the evap leak that bad on gas milage ? i did minor tune up plug, wires,cap,rotor ,transer case oil, front and rear diff with Royal purple, oil and filter with royal purple,Pcv valve, air filter,sea foam,tranny oil, starts, runs, idlesfine,no pooling of oil down the intake, cleaned the TB, tried to keep my right foot out of it( naww actually i didnt)but 9 miles to the gal?

I believe us short boxes actually have 26 gallon tanks.

You got big tires, 4.10 gears, and a brick of a truck as far as aerodynamics go. It'll take a bit before you start seeing MPG results from any tune-up/upgrade, usually.

I have 265/75R16s, 3.55 gears, K&N drop-in and NGK Iridium plugs, and I get about 10mpg right now (its also constantly below zero here right now). I am heavy footed as well.
