How many quarts of oil do you fill?
WhenI got my oil changed the tech told me it took almost 13 quarts of oil to get it full.. And I did request that he fill the filter before installing it. I have read of people putting nearly 14 quarts in.. others say exactly 12.. I just checked mine and it's about a 1/16" above the top marks on the stick/cable.. so how many do you pour in?

11 qt's in the engine and 1 qt in the filter for a total of 12 qt's = 3 gallons of oil. IIRC the 2007 only takes 3 gallons of oil just like my 2006 5.9 engine. Oh once you shut off the engine you need to wait 15 minutes or longer for the oil to drain back in to the oil pan to get a correct reading on the dip stick.

halfdozenbuzzinget the quick drain and most drain pans hold 3 gallons and you can do it bare handed in less time than you getthrough a oil change place.
Just pull in hot, slide you your pan under and open the drain, no hot oil on the hands or worrying about the big splash in your face or new driveway open the hood and left some of the heat out and open the filler cap, now go get you a bag to put over the filter to hold the oil while your remove it as you have to turn it to the side a little to remove it and put the new one on, by then your oil should be drained, shut the valve, pore in 3 gallons of oil and your done.
Mine goes just a little over the fill line.

I use a white kitchen trash bag because they're a little thicker than grocery type plastic bags.
As far as needing an oil pan, don't bother if you're gonna get the EZ drain valve. I dump it right into old oil jugs. Once one fills up, I flip the lever over to close it, put another jug under, and open it up again. I haven't used an oil pan since.
