Default Transmission code of p1757

My truck is at the dealer for the fourth time with a p1757 transmission governor pressure transducer above three psi when 0 psi is required code. the torque converter, valvebody, clutches, seals, governor sensor and, trans. pump have been replaced and the tranny is still messing up. it is an 02 ram 1500 w/ 68000 miles. i am a auto mechanic myself and believe that there is a shorted wire going to the sensor. if anyone has any ideas as to what may be causing this problem please let me know because the dealer cant seem to find the problem!!!!!!!!! ANY INPUT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

This is a common problem with the "RE" series transmissions. I reccomend first asking your Dealer to ensure the PCM software is updated to the current software level ( this should be covered under your federal emmissions warranty). Then road test the truck with a DRB III and monitor the governor sensor volts. If it's erratic you must replace it and the governor solenoid too becausethey work in conjunction! It's retarded but here is how it's suposed to work. The PCM sees the output speed sensor rpm climb then it duty cycles the governor solenoid to build pressure and it uses the sensor to see the result. The P code your asking about means the solenoid is building pressure when the PCM is not asking it too! If there was a short in the return circuit the volts would drop to zero,I doubtthats the cause.Usually this is caused by metal particals getting into the solenoid and sticking the valve inside.(takean old one apart, you will see the valve inside)Make sure there is not an underlying failure in progress creating the metal partical debris! Make sure there is a magnet in the pan (techs like to throw them away). You can also install an inline filter in the cooler hose. Finally, check with Transgo, they make a governor solenoid repair kit that adds a return spring to the valve inside the solenoid and prevents it from sticking.

GOT THE TRUCK BACK TODAY AND ACTUALLY THE PCM WAS BAD. THEY REPLACED THE PCM AT NO COST TO ME DUE TO THE EMISSIONS WARRANTY. HOPEFULLY THERE WILL BE NO MORE PROBLEMS.
